Fancy a sticky toffee cheese with REAL toffee pieces? How about a delicious slice of caramelised onion and red wine cheese to accompany a fruit platter?
These are just some of the innovative creations of the Great British Cheese Company who the Royal Cheshire County Show is delighted to welcome as a brand new Principal Partner for 2016!
The Great British Cheese Company has gained a reputation for its award-winning artisan waxed cheese truckles since its launch in Crewe in 2014.
Director Matt Nichols said it had chosen to sponsor the hugely popular Cheese Marquee at this year’s Royal Cheshire County Show where it will offer cheese tastings and sales on June 21 and 22.
“We went to the Show for the first time in 2015 and we liked what we saw regarding what the Show can deliver for the cheese industry,” he said.
“It’s a real agricultural Show and there’s a lot going on so it’s the perfect place to advertise and get our name out known.
“At The Great British Cheese Company stand inside the Cheese Marquee, the public can expect to sample bold and innovative flavour combinations.
“These include the Peri Peri Cheddar, a mature cheddar with a Peri Peri blend of South American Chillies.
“There is also a mature cheddar called the Whisky Mac which is contains stem ginger and, of course, whiskey.
“There’ s also the very popular Flagship – this is an extra creamy mature cheddar with a good bite and it won a Gold Award at last year’ s Cheshire Show.
Royal Cheshire County Show Executive Director Nigel Evans said having The Great British Cheese Company on board as a Principal Sponsor was a coup.
“A visit to the Cheese Marquee is a highlight for many people who come to the Show and I know this year will be no exception,” he said.
“We are all looking forward to sampling what The Great British Cheese Company has to offer.”
