Statement of Support
Cheshire Agricultural Society, as a charity organising the annual Royal Cheshire County Show, is committed to supporting local farming, agricultural and rural related business wherever practically possible.
This can be demonstrated in many areas of its operation as set out below
Trade Stands
All agricultural traders attending the show receive a significant discount of their trade stand fee.
Judges Accommodation
Judges requiring overnight stays are directed to local farm based B&B’s.
Roberts Bakery Food Halls
The Food Halls are designed to showcase local, regional and national producers and purveyors of food & drink in the widest sense.
The Society encourages and welcomes traders to present their products to a standard that projects a positive image of the agricultural, farming and food production industry, including local provenance of produce.
Roberts Bakery Food Live Theatre
The Food Live Theatre programme enables the Society to showcase the culinary skills of local chefs, students and local companies using local produce. In addition, celebrity chefs often attend to support the local produce message.
Cheshire Farmers Market
The Royal Cheshire County Show plays host to a vibrant and diverse Cheshire Farmers Market. The Society offers over 20 Cheshire based producers’ space within the Farmers Market area at a greatly subsidised fee.
Catering
The Royal Cheshire County Show has two catering concession contracts on site.
Fast food takeaway units, e.g. burgers, sausage and bacon baps, ice-cream etc. With a view to expressing the Society’s on-going commitment to support local producers and businesses, the catering contract includes the requirement to source all local meat products from, at present, Webbs Butchers, of Northwich. All bread products are supplied by Roberts Bakery and ice cream is supplied by Cheshire Farm Ice Cream, which is sold through the catering contractor’s ice cream units.
Formal catering contract, which includes the Members Enclosure and the Tabley Restaurant, also sources its ingredients and produce from within the Cheshire area wherever practically possible.
General
Cheshire Agricultural Society supports a wide range of Cheshire based charities and not for profit organisations, for example, RABI, Cheshire Scouts, WI, Children’s Adventure Farm Trust, Cheshire Landscape Trust, St. Luke’s Hospice and many, many more. This support takes the form of either; donation of space at the show or financial donations.
