Royal Cheshire County Show 2022 – Announcing Our Celebrity Chefs!

The Royal Cheshire County Show is delighted to announce TV favourites Simon Rimmer and Jean- Christophe Novelli as two of four fabulous celebrity chefs who will be heading up the culinary attractions at this year’s Royal Cheshire County Show to be held on June 21st and 22nd this Summer.
The Show, organised by The Cheshire Agricultural Society, is an annual family-friendly occasion celebrating the county’s agricultural heritage. The show which regularly receives up to 100, 000 visitors hosts exhibitions including a wide range of trade stands, food stalls and farmers’ markets, as well as many exciting competition classes for horses, cattle, sheep, pigs and dairy goats.
Simon, who is making a long-awaited return to the Show, will be showcasing his culinary expertise by hosting three demonstrations within the Food Live Theatre sponsored by Cheshire based Roberts Bakery on Tuesday 21st June.
Co-presenter of C4’s popular Sunday Brunch, Simon has a wealth of TV experience and has appeared across many channels including BBC, ITV, C4, C5 and UKTV. Aside from his on-screen experience, Simon also hosts the podcast ‘Grilling’, has written and published five successful books and is chef/owner of 16 restaurants in the North West of England, Abu Dhabi and Dubai. Simon’s passion for food began as a restaurateur and he continues to cook in his restaurants regularly.
Simon commented, “I’m really excited to be returning to the Royal Cheshire show this year. It’s a great event and I’m looking forward to showcasing my recipes and cooking with some of the wonderful local produce on offer!”
Also set to make a welcome return is Show favourite Jean-Christophe Novelli who will be taking to the Food Live Theatre on Wednesday 22nd June. He adds, “I am delighted to be returning to the Royal Cheshire County Show this year. This event is always such a great success and very enjoyable with a huge selection of attractions. The organisers work hard to ensure that there really is something for everyone. The perfect day out for a family. I am excited to be showcasing some new recipes and more importantly cooking with some of the wonderful local produce that will be sourced from the trade stands at the event.”
Those who have already bought tickets for this year’s Show can also expect to see an excitement-packed Main Ring with the highly-anticipated Paul Hannam Quad Bike Stunt Show, Shetland Pony Grand National, Gauntlet Bird of Prey display and the grand finale of the Cheshire Young Farmer’s Float Competition. The Show’s competition programme is this year back to pre-pandemic levels, seeing the return of the popular Show Jumping classes.
Further attractions around the Showground include the educational Sheep Show, the Countryside Live Arena offering a showcase of traditional rural life and skills and the Agri-centre – an educational journey from plough to plate, demonstrating where our food really comes from.
Show organisers The Cheshire Agricultural Society continue to support local farming, agricultural and rural related businesses with donations being awarded to the Cheshire Federation of Young Farmers, Churches Together in Cheshire, North West Air Ambulance charity and Cheshire County Scouts Council at the charities recent AGM.
