Principle Partners Roberts Bakery Celebrates Band Triumph at North West Championships

The Royal Cheshire County Show’s principle partners, Roberts Bakery are thrilled to announce that the Roberts Bakery Band has become national brass champions after celebrating a triumphant victory at the 2020 North West Regional Championships.

The Sandbach-based band beat off stiff competition from 15 other brass bands to take first place in the First Section of the contest, which was held in Blackpool on 23 February. The 30-strong band has now been promoted to the Championship Section and will compete against some of the nation’s finest brass bands in the First Section Finals, which takes place in Cheltenham in September.

The victory marks the beginning of an exciting year for the ensemble, which is celebrating a 40-year partnership with Cheshire Show Principle Partners, Roberts Bakery. The Northwich-based family bakery began sponsoring the band in 1980 and its support over the last 40 years has helped the band to take part in many prestigious UK and international competitions.

The Royal Cheshire County Show is pleased to announce that The Roberts Bakery Band will be returning to the Show to perform a broad range of popular music, including Queen and Rag ‘n’ Bone Man, across the Showground and in the Delamere Dairy Main Ring on Tuesday 16th June.

This year, The Roberts Bakery Food Live Theatre will welcome celebrity chefs including Jean-Christophe Novelli, Luis Troyano and Sean Wilson to put on a display of mouth-watering culinary expertise.

Ticketholders will also be able to browse Cheshire’s finest locally sourced produce inside the Roberts Bakery Food Halls, including the chance to taste Roberts Bakery’s own bread range such as their best-selling Heroic Wholemeal Bloomer, classic family favourite Thick Soft White and brand new Breakfast on the Go products.
